Hair Replacement Theories
Despite what many sources may say, there is no absolute and definitive knowledge
on what causes hair loss. If there was then there would be a cure by now.
That said, we do know quite a lot about what factors combine to rob both men
and women of their hair. We also know what doesn't cause hair loss, and it is
important to know both; for peace of mind and treatment options.
Firstly we know that:
- Hair loss is not caused by a lack of blood to the scalp.
- Wearing a hat does not cause hair loss.
- Wearing too much hair gel does not cause hair loss.
- Brushing your hair will not bring it back.
- You cannot tell for sure if you are going to go bald, or how you will bald.
Baldness is not traced by your maternal grandfather.
What does cause Baldness is an over abundance of the active hormone DHT. DHT
is your level of hair loss does not determine a male hormone that usually contributes
to the male sex drive, although you sex drive.
This is why hair replacement theories have switched away from topical solutions
that target the blood and the skin at the top of your head and how seek to target
your chemical make-up and hormones.
This is why many new drugs have hit the market that goes after baldness right
at the source: your hormones. The most popular of these drugs is Propecia and
its generic off shoots. Originally used as a heart medication, scientists noticed
that patients who where taking the medication would retain the hair that they
had, and in some cases they even grew more hair.
The drug was then re-tested and re-packaged as a hair replacement drug, and
so far the results have been promising. In the most recent studies, participants
noticed that they did have some success with the drug.
66% of men who used the drug reported that they saw significant hair growth
at the top of their head. In even better results, 90% of men surveyed claimed
that they had not lost any hair since beginning the treatment.
These statistics are unprecedented in the battle to stop hair loss and they
bode well for the future of hair replacement.
