Face Lift Tape
Signs of aging in the face are more obvious and worrisome than others. People
have been using a variety of creams, ointments, and salves for thousands of
years in an attempt to stem the tide of wrinkles and sagging skin. More recently,
the innovation of plastic surgery has allowed people to effectively regain the
looks of their youth by cosmetically altering the structure of facial muscles
and skin tissue. However, the procedure for a face lift requires surgery, money,
and healing time. It's not the best solution for everyone.
That's why a variety of doohickeys and gadgets have been patented over the
years to give the results of a real face lift, without actually going under
the knife.
These 'instant' face lifts have been popularized by infomercials as a quick
purchase that solves all of your problems. In reality, the results are far less
dramatic and can be categorized as a gimmick.
Face lift tapes are one product that purports to provide the results of a face
lift instantly and painlessly. These tapes are designed to adhere to the skin
along the hairline, and have elastic strings that connect to anchors hidden
along the centerline of the skull or back of the head. If done properly, the
skin can indeed be pulled back. However, the adhesive patches are difficult
to hide and the entire apparatus can't be hidden without a lot of hair.
Other instant face lift products are a class of creams that are exfoliants.
These creams give skin a more youthful look by removing dead skin layers and
moisturizing the skin beneath. Some instant face lift products are applied as
a mask and allowed to dry. The results are rarely permanent and require constant
upkeep, but can be a better alternative to a costly and time-intensive surgery.
You should be careful when selecting an instant face lift product. Many are
just gimmicks designed to take your money. It's best to consult a doctor who
specializes in skincare when choosing a cream. Face lift tapes are fairly impractical
for every day use and the adhesives can irritate the scalp.
By talking to a certified plastic surgeon you may be able to get a better idea
of what the tradeoffs are between a real face lift and the instant face lift
alternatives. Depending on your situation, one of them may be the better choice
for you.
