Lower Eye Lid Lift

It's true that your eyes are often the first place to show signs of aging. The reason for this is because the skin around your eyes is half as thin as on the rest of your face. Also, the skin around your eyes has fewer oil glands as well as weaker internal support and it naturally gets more exercise than even your mouth.

For these reasons as well because of hereditory factors and other factors such as sun damage, stress and fatigue, the eyelids are often the first to show signs of aging. This is why so many people, young and old, men and women, can benefit from eyelid surgery since it can really make a big difference in the way you look.

For the lower eyelids and the lower lid eye lift, the laser is often used to make a small bloodless incision inside the lower eyelid. The fat pads causing the bags under the eyes are removed. Because no visible incision is made no stitches are required. Additionally, the wrinkles around the eyes and crows feet can then be resurfaced with the laser during the same procedure to further produce the youthful look.

Sometimes, if the muscles of the lower lids need to be tightened, a tiny, practically invisible incision is made under the lower eyelashes that would not requre stitches.

After the lower lid eye lift surgery, you may experience some minor soreness and discomfort and the pain can be controlled by mild medication. Additionally, any swelling and bruising can be reduced by keeping cold compresses on your eyes.

Usually, most patients are up and around a day after surgery, though it is always advisible to make sure that the physical effort is minimal. If for some reason sutures were used, they usually come out in less than a week and the bruising and swelling will fade after few weeks. You can use makeup to cover the bruising before it goes down on its own.

If there are any scars they will usually fade and become barely noticeable over the next 1-2 months and they are easily hidden in the creases of the skin. You will be really surprised to see how much of a difference in your appearance the lower lide eye lift will make. You should not only look younger but also healther as well.
