Male to Female Breast Enlargement

Even though most breast augmentations are done on women, there are a number of men who benefit from the procedure of getting their breasts enlargement. There are lots of male-to-female transsexuals as well as many female impersonators, gender-benders and crossdressers who have breast augmentation done in order to improve their appearance and presentation.

There are no significant physiological differences between male and female breast tissue, for the purpose of breast enlargement other than the initial volume. The surgical procedure is identical in either case. Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enlarge the size of a man's breast.

Through inserting an implant behind each breast, surgeons are able to enlarge man's bustline by a cup size. Because men usually have less skin in that area it is suggested that they start with the smaller implant so that the body can get used to the new shape and stretch over the area eventually.

Breast augmentation does enhance your appearance - as well as your identity -- and your self-confidence. It is important, before deciding to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon. Lots of plastic surgery consultants may suggest wearing a bra or a brasserie (or fake breasts) for some time before going through with the procedure. Basically, if you're physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.

Normally, a breast implant is a silicone shell filled with either silicone gel or a salt-water solution known as saline.

The method of inserting and positioning your implant does usually depend on your anatomy as well as your surgeon's recommendation. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest or in the armpit. The idea is to have as little scarring as possible.

Once they work through the incision, the surgeon will lift your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket, either directly behind the breast tissue or underneath your pectoral muscle. That way the implants are under your nipples.

Normally, the male to femal breast enlargement surgery takes one to two hours to complete. After the implants are inserted stitches are used to close the incisions, which may further be taped for greater support. Finally, a gauze bandage may be applied over your new breasts.
