Question: As a smoker, how long should you eliminate smoking before getting a tummy tuck if you are diabetic. I am more of a social smoker. I am a insulin dependent diabetic, with good control.

Answer: I have heard that smoking also increases the potential of scarring...also; if you are a diabetic, smoking may increase other health risks for you - you should consult a physician who can explain these risks as well as inform you of ways to help you kick the habit.
